March of the living Hungary - remembering the victims of the Holocaust ÉLET MENETE 2008 - homepage in Hungarian
April 16th, Wednesday, 6p.m. Meeting point: Dohany street Great Synagogue Everybody warmly welcome to attend. Program:
- Budapest Klezmer band performance
- Musicians, politicians, writers, actors, students and pupils offer commemorative performances.
- Laszlo Fekete, cantor of the Dohany synagogue recites mourning prayers.
- 600 white flowers will be thrown into the Danube to commemorate the 600 thousand Hungarian victims.

Hotel Modern (NL): Camp - animated history on plotting board
February 2008: 22nd, 23rd; 8 p.m. Location: TRAFO House of Contemporary Arts/ Theater Hall Address: Budapest IXth district, Liliom street 41. Price: 2000 Forint, Student: 1500 Ft (Trafó Season Ticket is valid!) In the frame of LOW Festival. Hotel Modern attempts to imagine the unimaginable: the greatest mass murder in history, committed in a purpose-built city. A model of the camp is brought to life onstage: thousands of 3" tall handmade puppets represent the prisoners and their executioners. The actors move through the set like giant war reporters, filming the horrific events with miniature cameras and the audience plays witness. The performance is recommended for viewers above age 12.

The Golem Festival - Jewish Theater
12 October 2007 - 14 October 2007 Location: Merlin Theater Address: Budapest Vth district, Gerlóczy street 2. The festival will be the first international Jewish theatrical perfomance in Budapest. Holocaust Remembrance Week - 12-19 April, 2007.
The ghettoization of Hungarian Jews began on April 16, 1944, in Carpatho-Ruthenia, 57 years later the government of Hungary declared this date a Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Holocaust Memorial Center in Budapest commemorates the past events with a series of programs including exhibitions, scientific and educational conferences, and the unveiling of the Tower of Lost Communities at the institute on April 16.
